Chapter 95
Aina
We were preparing to attend Alpha Ruben’s mating ceremony at the Jupiter Pack. I had met him only a handful of times at council gatherings, but from what I knew, he had never taken a mate. The oldest alpha still unbonded. It was almost strange to think that at forty-six, he had finally found his fated one. Sometimes, I thought, the Moon goddess truly had a cruel sense of humor—making a man wait that long for love.
“Have you packed everything Alina will need?” I asked one of the maids, my tone calm but thoughtful. Truthfully, if it were left to me, I’d have preferred our daughter stayed home. The ceremony would last two days at most, and we’d return right after. But Osborne, as usual, had insisted she come along.
Typical of him—wanting his whole world close, no matter the circumstance.
“Yes, ma’am,” the maid replied quickly. “Tomorrow’s trip will go smoothly. Everything has been arranged.”
I nodded approvingly and offered her a small smile. “Thank you. You’ve all worked hard.”
