Chapter 125
ALEXANDER’S POV
The grass was soft under our feet, and the lake shimmered like glass as we walked towards it.
Eliza didn’t know this but I had planned a little picnic here by the lake. I thought it would be romantic.
I watched her face light up as she followed me past the trees where the fairy lights glowed. Her steps were hesitant until we stepped into the clearing.
Her gasp hit my ears like music.
“Alexander…” she breathed.
Her eyes went wide as she took in everything—the soft picnic blanket laid out carefully near the water's edge, the food and snacks, the wine chilling in a silver bucket, and the soft glow of fairy lights overhead.
Gentle music played from the hidden speaker I’d tucked between two tree roots.
“You did this?” she asked.
I nodded, “Yes, I did”
She gasped again. “When did you even have time to set all of this up?”
