Chapter 94
THIRD PERSON’S POV
Maya slowly regained consciousness.
She felt a deep pain in her skull. Her muscles screamed in protest as she tried to move, but she was bound tightly to a chair.
She could feel every bruise, every gash on her body.
It took her a moment to gather her bearings, to process where she was.
Her heart skipped as she lifted her eyes to the figure standing across from her.
Victor. The Western Plains commander.
He stood tall and proud. He was studying her with his arms crossed and a cruel smile playing on his lips. His eyes, cold and calculating, were filled with amusement.
It was clear that he wasn’t concerned with her pain. No, he loved every moment of it.
"Ah, you're awake," he said in a mocking tone "I was beginning to think you might not survive the night."
Maya’s breath caught in her throat. She bit back the urge to retort. She wouldn’t give him the satisfaction.
Instead, she gathered what little strength she had left and forced herself to speak.
“The treaty…” she gaspe
