Chapter 832 Pretense
Sotiria felt as if someone were strangling her throat. She had no idea how she had managed to answer.
“No! It’s not true! You’re lying. You’re just trying to convince me that your actions against me were perfectly justified. That’s why you’ve deliberately concocted this lie to deceive me.”
“Oh, really?”
Renata turned around and looked at the two ugly men next to her. Renata’s smile was bitter and filled with disappointment.
“You’ve already given me that drink. In just a few minutes, I’m going to become a toy for these two wonderful men, just like you wanted. What’s the use in concocting a lie to deceive you?”
Sotiria had no response.
However, she refused to give up.
She had heard a few rumors over the past four years, but Garrison had told her that she was a good woman who was both pure and flawless inside and out. She had always believed that she wasn’t as filthy as everyone said.
However, she had recently begun to be acquainted with her filthy past. It was enough to fill her with doubt and sorrow.
She refused to accept that her past self was so horrible that she had even pounced on her best friend’s fiance…
In the midst of Sotiria’s confusion, Zachary’s elegant and cold voice rang aloud indifferently.
“I’ve done my research on you. This woman isn’t lying. After she and her family members caught you and her fiance in the shower, her fiance was too ashamed to face her, so he left Rothesay that very day. From that day on, she never saw him again.”
At this point, Sotiria had no choice but to believe her.
She now felt more despair than when that man had pricked her with the syringe full of drugs yesterday. Her bright red lips trembled violently.
“So five years ago, we cut ties. You visited me at the hospital when I woke up from that accident, pretended to be my best friend, and stayed with me. It was all a lie… You were searching for a chance to have your vengeance against me… It’s been four years. Everything you’ve told me was a lie. Every smile you’ve shown me was all part of a play.”
“You’re pretty much right.”
Renata’s body temperature was growing increasingly hot, and her eyes reddened more and more, which made her glare toward Sotiria even more vicious than ever.
“Did you know, Sotiria? It’s been four years and three months now. I may have acted like your best friend, but every time I see your face, I remember you sitting on Yohann without a care in the word—that sl*tty wh*rish look on your face… Every time I held your filthy hand, I’d be so disgusted that I’d want to throw up! But I continued my happy facade. I’d ask you out for a meal, a shopping trip, or a movie whenever I had time. I wanted you to completely lower your guard against me. Once I had the opportunity, I would make you suffer.”
Sotiria raised her brows.
“Hehehe… Oh, Sotiria. You should probably understand why I sold you out to Melina Shore just for 3,000 dollars, don’t you? I would have set you up with that thing, regardless of the circumstances, even if she didn’t bribe me, as long as it made your life a living hell! Haha! Hahahaha…”
Renata laughed maniacally.
‘It doesn’t matter anymore! Sotiria has always been an unreasonable woman. Now, with Mr. Connor as backup, she wasn’t going to let me go. I might as well get a good laugh out of this and make Sotiria even more vexed.’
Sotiria stared at Renata’s maniacal, complacent face and felt the urge to slap her.
However, just as she raised her right hand, she realized she wouldn’t feel any better, even if she hit Renata.
She put her trembling hand away and stuffed it into her pocket.
“This is the antidote. Drink this, and you’ll sleep a little better.”
