KNOX'S POV
The pack house felt like a tomb. Walking through its familiar corridors, I heard nothing but muffled sobs behind closed doors and whispered conversations that died the moment I appeared. The scent of grief hung heavy in the air, mixing with the lingering smell of antiseptic from treating the wounded.
I paused outside Logan's door, my hand hovering over the handle. Through the solid oak, I could hear my younger brother's ragged breathing. He hadn't left his room in three days, not even for our parents' memorial ceremony. My wolf rumbled with concern, but I pushed it aside. There was no time for that now.
"He still won't come out?" Noah's quiet voice came from behind me. My middle brother looked exhausted, his usually bright blue eyes dulled by fatigue. He was still wearing the same black sweater and jeans from yesterday, his dark hair disheveled.
