KNOX'S POV
The crowd erupted in cheers and whistles as I held Aubrey steady, the noise mixing with the pulsing bass that seemed to vibrate through the entire building. The private lounge was awash in shifting colors from the overhead lights—blues and purples that painted Aubrey's skin in ethereal hues. Caroline stood by the bar, her silver dress catching every flash of light as she waved a champagne bottle like a victory flag. Merlin shot me a grateful look from her corner, relief evident in the relaxation of her shoulders.
The air was thick with the scent of alcohol, perfume, and the unmistakable energy of celebration. Empty glasses littered the tables, clear signs of what must have been quite a party.
