Katelyn’s POV
The moment Matthew extended his hand, I knew this was going to be anything but a polite introduction.
Ethan’s expression didn’t shift, but something in his posture did, his jaw tightening, his shoulders squaring just a bit more than necessary.
He was too composed, and that only made the tension worse.
When their hands clasped, I saw the slight twitch in Matthew’s brow.

“Firm handshake,” Matthew said through a light grin, though the strain in his knuckles was obvious.
