Chapter 157 After the Flames
Katelyn’s POV
After the broadcast ended, the noise of the fire trucks and police sirens was still loud all around me. I was trying to pack up my things when Logan Pierce suddenly appeared.
He stepped in front of a group of reporters and, with the cameras rolling, loudly accused me.
“Katelyn sent her assistant into the fire just to get footage,” Logan said, shaking his head for effect. “That’s dangerous, and someone could have died. She should answer for it.”
Some reporters turned to look at me. I could see doubt in their eyes, and a few were already whispering, ready to spread whatever story Logan gave them.
A heavy silence fell for a second, the moment stretching uncomfortably. Without waiting another second, I took out my phone and called Jamie on speaker, letting everyone hear.
Jamie picked up quickly.
“Jamie,” I said, trying to keep my voice steady, “did I send you into the fire? Logan’s saying "I put you in danger.”
Jamie’s answer was loud and clear. “No, Katelyn. You didn’t send
