Chapter 84: Broken Chains

Demi I blinked and Ares had ahold of my hand, stopping the blade from piercing my heart.             “I… I love you Ryder. If we can’t be together in life, maybe… Maybe we can be together in death.” I whispered into the dusty air. Tears streamed down my cheeks. I am praying that I can see him again. I feel the blade make its way through the skin of my chest, only inches away from its target, my heart. Warm sticky liquid exits the wound and makes its way down, leaving a growing red spot on my white bustier. Then something stopped me.             “You really didn’t think I would let you kill yourself, do you? Not when I finally have you all to myself.” Ares spoke.             “Ares! No, let me go!” Ares hand covers mine, halting it so that it can move no further. My mind told me to scream and kick, but something else happened. It’s almost like a camera flash. I blinked, then standing before me is a solid black form. Scales so dark that it was almost like you were looking at the galaxy. W
