For days, Garrick busied himself with restoring the house, trying to make it look the way it once did.
But with the house showing so little progress, a restless panic stirred within him.
Every detail of this house had once carried Kaelis' touch, shaped by her careful design.
He couldn't even remember what the villa had initially looked like.
The guilt gnawed at him and was impossible to shake.
Now, he barely spared a glance at Lyra's punishment before throwing himself back into restoring the home.
In his mind, if Kaelis saw the house had returned to the way it once was, she would be touched.
Garrick didn't dare to meet Kaelis until Lyra had suffered enough. Only then did he gather the photos and videos and set out to find her.
Tracking her address wasn't difficult. In fact, he found it almost too easily.
When he arrived at her door, his fingers moved on instinct, keying in their wedding date. The lock buzzed sharply, flashing red—it was the wrong code.
