Augustin froze for a moment, then lit up with joy. He was terrified that Matthew might just kill him to cover his tracks. That was why he kept trying to get Matthew to leave. He didn't expect Matthew to call the police. With his connections, he could easily get Matthew locked up with one phone call. In the end, he'd end up keeping his money. That was when Augustin realized things didn't add up. Matthew had extorted money and even killed people. How the hell did he have the guts to call the police? Right when he was trying to figure it out, a flurry of footsteps echoed from the third floor. Moments later, a few heavily armed police officers came storming into the room. Seeing the officers, Austin looked like a drowning man grabbing onto a lifeline. He pointed at Matthew. "Quick! Arrest him now." Among the officers, a plainclothes cop stepped forward with his handgun ready. He looked to be in his 30s, eyes sharp and focused. He gave Augustin a once-over. "Did you call the police?"
