Chapter 22

Author's POV Mirielle kept waiting for Moira to call, even forgetting that she had to go to bed early so she wouldn't wake up late the next morning. She was excited because Moira was going to take her to school. However, she couldn't close her eyes, missing Moira and feeling upset. By ten o'clock, she was still awake, hoping Moira would come because she felt guilty for neglecting her for several weeks. If Mirielle were an adult, she would have known that all of this was her fault, not Moira's. But for now, in Mirielle's eyes, her mother was to blame and no longer loved her. The sound of a horn startled Mirielle, who was almost asleep. She immediately got up to greet whoever had arrived.
