Author's POV
Moira's heartbeat grew faster as the footsteps drew nearer. She tried to calm herself. She wasn't afraid that Jude would make an issue of what had happened a few hours ago because she didn't feel she had done anything wrong. Dillan had made the decision, which was his right—even though she had intervened a little.
However, what Moira feared didn't happen. Jude came alone and immediately entered Mirielle's room to check on her. She still had a headache and weakness.
Mirielle, who had been asleep, woke up when she heard her father's footsteps and cheerfully called out his name.
"Daddy!" Mirielle tried to get up but decided to lie back down while hugging her mother, who hugged her back. She still felt dizzy and weak.
Seeing Jude arrive, Moira released her embrace to make room for Jude and Mirielle to be closer, as Jude, who had just entered the room, immediately took his place beside the bed and reached out to embrace his little daughter.
