Chapter 25: Cleared It All

My breath was cold and it mixed with the frigid night air. The torn, old map was in my hand. It had led me far into werewolves territory. It led me back into the sections of Blackthorn territory that were so desolate and wild, that even pack patrols were rarely bothered with.
Thank the moon goddess my scent was covered or I would have been discovered long ago. I moved quietly, keeping my breath controlled and shallow.
I checked the map again to check if I was going in the right direction.
I found the location by midnight. The air was thick with the scent of damp earth and old trees. The entrance, just as it was in Herold’s drawing, was hidden behind a large boulder, which was perfectly hidden from years of overgrowth. I spent more than an hour clearing the debris.
When the path was finally cleared, I found a rusted, metal door. I pushed it open. The smell that hit my nose made me held my breath. Everywhere was so dark that even my wolf eyesight couldn’t help. I put on my flash lig
