~Valeria ~ He is not lying, not now! I pull my hand away as if fire had burned it. He is telling the truth. I felt his soul trying to latch on to me. I can’t do it. We have lost. Grimm’s hand suddenly presses on Dagar’s chest. “What are you doing?” “It has to be done,” Grimm says, giving his warm and tender smile. “No!” I try to pull him away, but he latches his other hand on the stone throne and uses all of his strength to stay in place. I pull on him, and even Dagar tries to push him away, beginning to panic, but Grimm holds firm, and the spell begins to take hold, doing exactly what it was meant to do. “You fool! Do you have any idea what you’re doing?!” Dagar is panicking for the first time. “You’ll go mad! Your body can’t handle me or my power!” “So be it,” Grimm whispers. Suddenly, I see it—a light curling around Grimm’s hand, sliding up his arm like a living thread. Dagar jerks, his body convulsing, then freezes, locked in place as if turned to stone. “Move away!” Grimm shouts a
