Chapter 13
"What's wrong?" Sean's concerned voice brought Ariel back to her senses.
She quickly shook her head. "It's nothing. I was probably mistaken."
Despite her words, she couldn't help but think about the figure she had spotted.
Throughout the drive, Sean eloquently explained the history of Arbington to her.
Ariel nodded along, but her mind was elsewhere. No matter how hard she racked her brain, she couldn't figure out why Keith had come to Echea.
Was it because of the time Sean accepted Keith's call to piss him off when he had gotten bored with just sitting beside her bed a few days ago?
But the call only lasted for a little more than ten seconds. How did he find their location?
In the end, Ariel concluded that she was overthinking things.
Suddenly, the Rolls-Royce sped up. She reflexively held onto her seatbelt to steady herself. "Sean, why did you speed up?"
Sean's face darkened. "Sit tight, Ariel."
