Chapter 14
Keith flinched when he met Ariel's gaze. Her eyes were so cold that it was as if she were looking at a stranger.
For a split second, he wondered if she had lost her memory. But upon seeing those familiar eyes, he quickly threw that absurd thought away.
"Ariel, I was wrong." Keith's tone was soft. He persuaded her gently, "Can you stop acting like this just because you're upset with me?"
Ariel silently rolled the car window back up.
"Wait! Hear me out!" He used his hand to stop the window from closing completely. It was as if he couldn't feel the pain at all.
"I know everything Natalie had been doing now. It's my fault for not paying attention. I never expected her to lay her hand on you. My men have caught her. You can deal with her as you see fit once you come home."
Keith was panicking. His heart was urging him to say everything he wanted to say to Ariel.
