Carrie’s Point of View
I snuck a look to his face to see what he was thinking, and I regretted it almost immediately. He was staring at me hungrily. His hand slowly started to lift my shirt higher. I realized his intents and began to squirm, only making his grasp on my wrists tighter. He opened his mouth as if to say something before he was interrupted by the ringing of a telephone.
I watched gratefully as he released my shirt and reached for his phone. I wasn't able to see who was calling, but when Derek saw the caller ID he spoke to me quickly.
"Don't you make a sound." He growled in my direction before answering the phone.
"Yes, Hello Lucas." His tone changed completely as he spoke on the phone.
Then it struck me. Was he speaking to the vampire? I was pretty sure he mentioned that his name was Lucas while admiring the artwork on my arm. If he was speaking to the vampire, I knew one thing. I didn't plan on making a single sound.
