Carrie’s Point of View
Lucas continued on. "Very well. I have a few last things to take care of before I leave. When I return home, I expect the house to be spotless and you two are waiting for me in the foyer." He once again gestured to Brigit and Jenna. "And you," he looked at me menacingly. "Are to be back in my room."
We all nodded in response to him.
"Good. Now, get to it." He lamely dismissed us.
The three of us hobbled out of the room, leaning on one another for support. Lucas walked behind us and turned to leave through the front door to take care of what I assumed was his 'business.'
We each made our way to the kitchen, sitting down at the table next to one another. When the tires of Lucas’ car drove away against the gravel, we knew it was finally safe to talk.
"Bridgit-" I started, but she held up her hand and cut me off.
"I know. This is our chance."
Jenna looked at the two of us wildly. "What are you talking about? We can't leave! He'll find us and punish us!" She squeaked
