Harlow now stood beside me. He had replaced Lorraine, who had now sat back in her original seat. In his hand, a silver necklace with a wolf-head pendant reflected a soft light on his face. Harlow turned to me, seeking support.
‘It’s okay, Harlow. Let’s do this.’ I nodded at him while voicing my conviction.
He nodded in return. I looked at the brass cauldron. The silver water had been replaced with fresh liquid. The servants and Mrs. Geeny cleansed it back to its pure state.
During the re-cleansing of the cauldron, people used the time to take a quick break. At least the reception food wasn’t wasted, and the guests ate until nothing was left.
