Chapter 26 Deserves the Best Man in the World
Back at the hotel, Jonathan stood there, shaking with anger and helplessness.
He bent down to pick up his phone. The screen was shattered. After several failures to turn it on, he returned to his car with a dark expression.
When he got home, Margaret rushed over at once. Seeing him alone and gloomy, she anxiously asked, "Well? Did you see Mr. Lloyd? What did Horizon say?"
"What did they say?" Jonathan snapped as he yanked off his tie and dropped heavily onto the couch. "I didn't even catch a glimpse of him!"
He gulped down a big mouthful of cold water before his temper finally eased a little. "Where's Quinn?"
"In her room upstairs," Margaret answered. Then she asked hesitantly, "Do you need her for something?"
"She's all we've got to rely on now," he said with a sigh. "Go get her. I need to talk to her."
Margaret hurried upstairs and summoned Quinn to the living room.
