Chapter 7

At ten o'clock, all of the guests were gone. Under the luxurious and dazzling chandelier, a cold and slender figure sat elegantly at a wine table, drinking. Peter was already slightly drunk, there was a thin layer of wine on his beautiful lips, with the moonlight shining down on him, it made his face irresistible. Even though he got married, he was not interested in entering the bridal chambers. To Peter, marriage was only the fulfillment of tasks and promises. After all, Cassandra saved him with her body and in return he let her marry him and he gave her everything she ever wanted. "President Xiao!" Lian, who was dressed stylishly, hurried over and whispered in Peter's ear, "President Xiao, Cassandra is calling for you." "It's that time already?" Peter took his glass and drank what was left. His eyes were slightly closed, and his long eyelashes cast a shadow, he looked extraordinarily lonely. "I feel sick, do you have any medicine? I don't think I can do this." Lian was holding a black cell phone, he was a little relieved and a little worried. "No, President Xiao, you don't have to go to her chambers. The bride just now wasn't Cassandra, it was someone else apparently. The real Cassandra was drugged, we even have test results." Peter opened his eyes suddenly, and he stared at Lian with his sharp black eyes. "What did you just say?" As he said this, he crushed the glass with his bare hand out of anger. Lian was shocked to see that look in his eyes. He handed the phone over and said with his head down, "Again, Cassandra is calling for you." Cassandra's delicate sobbing could be heard over the phone, "Peter, I'm sorry. My little sister, she did something to me." Peter wanted to confirm what she said. "Little sister?" "I never told you, but I have a half-sister named Samantha, she just returned from abroad. She admires you very much, so she begged me to have the position of the bride. Of course I didn't agree, but she drugged me, and then replaced me." "Where are you?" "I'm still at my mother's house. My sister is the one with you right now. What should I do?" "You don't have to do anything. I'll handle this." Peter faintly curled his lips, and his cold, emotionless tone was seething with contempt. "Peter, you calm down! My sister is still young. She doesn't know any better, she just wanted to enjoy herself. Peter? Do you hear me?" Looking at the abruptly ended call, Cassandra covered her face to hide her smile. She then burst into tears. "Is the car ready? I have to save my sister." "It's ready, Ms. Yan." The maid handed her arm to Cassandra and she helped her get into the car, "You're too kind, my lady. Why even bother with her after what she had done?" Cassandra didn't answer her, she turned to look at the engagement ring on her hand. Her eyes were indescribable, almost as if she was hiding something underneath. The Guaiguai water should be wearing off by now. Her heart was beating with anticipation. She was going to see the sad, pathetic look on her face and she was going to see her killed at Peter's command. ... At the Xiangjiang Villa. The night was terribly quiet. The house was full of red festive decorations. Samantha had a splitting headache, she felt weak, and it was hard for her to breathe. "Where am I? What's going on?" Through her silk red veil she saw two candles lit, the wax was melting and it dripped to the sides making an uneven burn. She remembers seeing something like this on TV before. "Ghost marriage?" Samantha remembered it clearly now there was a peculiar type of wedding ceremony which involved offering a dead person for marriage. She knows that Cassandra is sadistic enough to do something like this. Samantha was horrified. Her cold sweat instantly soaked the back of her clothes, and her hands and feet went numb. At this time, there was a string of solid and powerful footsteps from outside the door, becoming louder and louder. People were coming after her and the footsteps had a certain urgency to them. Samantha was so frightened that her heart stopped for a few beats, she was frozen and she couldn't move a muscle. The door was kicked open vigorously with a loud bang, and cold air poured in. Peter stepped in the room, the candle light gave him an eerie vibe, almost as if the devil himself had entered the room. His face was stern, his dark eyes were staring at the bride on the bedside, his sharp gaze penetrated through the veil, staring into Samantha's eyes with contempt. Outside the door, Lian and Peter's bodyguard, Frank Ye, took precautions for a potential threat and they aimed their guns at Samantha, if she tried to attack Peter they would shoot without any hesitation. Peter was approaching her menacingly with a suffocating aura. Samantha grit her teeth in fright. She wanted Jonathan to save her, she had to avoid him and buy time. However, she didn't know that Jonathan was busy at the police station today, so she only sent a voice message to her, telling her to take good care of herself. Peter had a look of disgust and disdain. He quickly removed the veil from her head. Samantha screamed and she went under the bed, she hid in the innermost part. Her knees were shaking. Peter didn't expect this, he clenched his fists quickly, and a strong disgust burst from his eyes. This wretched woman has done shameless things, but now she cowers in fear? Outside the door, Lian and Frank glanced at each other, not knowing what to do. They thought Samantha wanted to assassinate Peter by replacing Cassandra as the bride. Peter's eyes was full of impatience and murderous intent, He kicked the edge of the bed frame causing it to move a few inches. "Get out of there!" "I don't want to! Go away!" Samantha's voice trembled and she shouted incoherently.
