Chapter 100
Hospital.
The IV drip fed nutrients into Matthias Waters’ hand.
The healer gave a quick reminder: “Don’t soak yourself in cold water in the middle of winter, alright?”
As soon as the healer left, Weill Peak and the others gathered around the bed like they were mourning at a funeral.
Weill dropped to his knees dramatically, wailing, “Matthias! This is all my fault! You’re still young—how could it end like this…”
“Right? What about Luna now? How’s she gonna cope without you?” Warren waddled over, his chubby frame taking up most of the space as he flopped onto the bed, nearly smothering Matthias.
Through snot and tears, he sniffled, “Alpha, don’t worry. I’ll do my best to comfort Luna. I won’t let her suffer too much… Ow!”
Before he could finish, he caught a solid kick to the backside.
His plushy body slid right off the bed.
Matthias shot his eyes open and snapped, “Would you people quit acting like I’m dead already?!”
Weill held his hand, grief written all over his face, “Honestly though
