Chapter 47
After Jackson left, Oliver was still tense, eyes locked onto the door that had just slammed shut a few minutes ago.
He’d been kicked out by a few of their Deltas.
Oliver slowly unclenched his fists and shut his eyes tight.
Jackson’s words echoed in his head like an annoying loop he couldn’t shut off.
“Ella doesn’t love you! She loves me!”
“She picked me ten years ago, and she’d still pick me now!”
Each word cut like a knife. Oliver took a long breath, forcing himself to calm down.
A knock broke the silence—Colin Davis, their Gamma, stood outside the door, voice steady. “Alpha Oliver, the pack meeting’s about to start. They’re waiting.”
Oliver nodded slightly without looking up. His reply came out quiet, nearly under his breath. “Alright. Let’s go.”
He got up from the chair, face unreadable, footsteps heavy as he walked out of his office.
Colin trailed behind, treading carefully, clearly reading the Alpha’s mood.
Up until today, Oliver had never ordered Deltas to guard the top floor.
