Chapter 9

"Sister, I know it will be difficult for you, but I feel keen on taking this step," Roxina said, regretfully looking at my mom. "Roxina, tell me. Is it something to do with Aaron?" Mom asked. I turned my gaze towards Roxina. "Actually, I'd like to end our relationship. I would rather not marry him," Roxina said. "What?" Mom said loudly. Mom gave me the same look I gave her. My heart was bursting at the seams with excitement. Was it probable that I misheard something? With glittering eyes, I glanced at Roxina. "What are you saying?" I said as I sat alongside her and grasped her hand. "Are you serious?" I asked. Mom said fiercely, "Ivy, stop it!" Roxina smiled and nodded to me. I looked at my mom. "Are you serious, Roxina? If you have an issue, please let us know, and we will help you," Mom added. I sighed and rolled my eyes. "Not at all, sis. We're just laid-back. I simply want Aaron to be a friend in my life, not my husband," she explained. "Does Aaron know, Roxina? Tati asked. "No, sis. That's why I wanted to tell it in front of everyone." I carefully stood up from Roxina's side and walked over to my mom's side, whispering, "Now is not the time for you to tell Uncle. He'll be sad if he hears this, and you know well that he's not in good health." "You are right," Mom said with a nod. "Did you tell your father?" Mom asked. "He's well aware of it. But, sis, I don't want our family's bond to be affected as a result of my decision. And I'm sure Aaron will be upset when he hears this. He will not want to end this relationship," she said. "You don't have to be worried, Ms. Roxina. I'll take care of him," I abruptly spoke out. When she heard me, she smiled and said, "Ivy, you are such a stunning girl. I know Aaron will listen to his niece." Hearing her, I narrowed my eyes. What niece? Soon, I will be his girlfriend. "Aaron spoke many things about his niece," Roxina unexpectedly stated. I turned to face her. Did Aaron tell his friends about me? "Uncle," I mumbled. "Yes, your uncle," she responded, a smile on her face. My interest piqued, I asked, "What did he say?" "Stop it, Ivy. Roxina, kindly wait. I'll be joining you shortly," claiming that Mom went to call the maid. "What did he say?" I said as I moved closer to her. Roxina stated with a bright smile, "He said he has a beautiful niece who is very naughty and chatty." "What?" I groaned. I sighed and sat unhappily at her side. He described me as chatty and mischievous. Roxina gently touched my hair and murmured, "He also stated he loves his niece very much." As I heard her, I turned to face her. My heart began to pound at a breakneck pace. Uncle, did you say this? I lowered my gaze and tried to smile, "Haha." Oh my goodness! Uncle, did you really mean that? "That's why I was so excited to meet this little Ivy." After she had a glance at me, she said, "But I found that Aaron's niece is a very lovely and interesting person. Anyone can fall in love with this girl." "Hahaha, thank you, Ms. Roxina,” I replied. She said, "Don't call me Ms. Roxina." "Then I'm not sure what to call you. Listen, I'm not going to call you aunty. You know, my uncle is just 5 years my senior. And, from my perspective, you're two or three years older than me." "So I'm not going to tell you, aunty," I responded. "Then call me Roxina." Roxina chuckled when she heard me. "All right, Roxina," I smirked. "But don't call me a small girl; instead, call me Ivy." "OK, Ivy," she replied, and my mom came. "I hope Ivy didn't disturb you, Roxina." "No, sis," she replied, "she is a funny person with whom I enjoy conversing." "Mom, Roxina is a friend of mine." "Don't say anything terrible about me to my friend," I said sarcastically. "Don't mind her, Roxina," Mom sighed. Hmmp! Mom had always treated me like a spoiled brat. I went upstairs to see Aaron after Roxina had left. Roxina wasn't bad, and I was glad she ended the relationship. The question was how Aaron would react. I was going to knock, but my mother called me for dinner. "Mom, you always interrupt my precious time," I murmured as I dashed downstairs. I was expecting Aaron to come down, but he didn't. After a little while, I noticed that Mom had taken his dinner to his room. Oh, okay, as soon as I saw her leave to walk upstairs, I began eating. After a time, my mom appeared and told my dad everything. "I think we would rather not interfere in their business," Dad stated. "Yes, I think so. I didn't even tell Aaron about it," Mom explained. Hearing them, I rolled my eyes. It was as if Aaron was smitten with Roxina. I didn't think so. Aaron loved her. I grinned as I thought he just loved me. I went to my room after finishing my dinner. I wanted to go inside his room, but I had something else planned. I was waiting for everyone to go to bed. I stepped out of my room and took a glance around. I stood in front of his door, about to knock. No, no, I knew Aaron very well, and if he got to know it was me, he would never open the door. I sighed and returned to my room. I dashed to the balcony and peeked; his light was turned on. I leaped onto the railing and walked over to his balcony. Through the window, I peered inside his room. I was speechless when I saw Aaron's back when he was changing his clothes. "Oh damn," I said, although a bit loudly. But suddenly, Aaron looked back. Crap! Aaron said, with surprise, "Ivy!" "Uncle," I said as I opened his balcony door with a smile. I walked into his room, wearing my sexy nightdress as usual. I sat on his bed and lifted one leg over the other. Aaron stared hopelessly at me. "I've come to see you," I said. "You see me now go. I'm sleepy," Aaron stammered. "Why are you stuttering?" I asked. "When?" he promptly retorted. I added, "right now." "No," he said, frowning. "Ivy, I'm sleepy," he stated once again. "But," I said, "I'm here to tell you something." "At this time? Can't you tell me tomorrow?" Aaron said. "It's very urgent," I said with a nod. When Aaron heard me, he sat on the sofa rather than on the bed. "Uncle, your fiancé just broke up everything," I smirked. "What?" he asked. "Yes, Roxina came while you were asleep today. She clarified that she does not want to marry you," I said. When Aaron heard me, he jumped up and asked, "What exactly are you talking about? How could she say something like that?"
