On the other side, when Calliope walked back into the hospital room, the table was already set with a few neatly packed breakfast boxes.
Eleanor pointed at them. "Your husband dropped them off. He actually put some thought into it-got you pumpkin oatmeal and your favorite crystal dumplings. But he seemed busy, didn't stick around."
Calliope just gave a light "oh" and started unwrapping the packaging without much interest.
Eleanor looked at her, baffled. She totally couldn't figure out what was going on between them. So, she changed the subject. "Can I be discharged to rest at home now?"
Calliope pressed her lips together, then replied, "I'll ask Conrad to check with Dr. Grant later. You should be good to go."
Mia, standing nearby, suddenly jumped in, sounding worried. "Ma'am, you really should be careful with that Dr. Grant. The way she looks at your husband-it's just off. And she keeps finding excuses to talk to him when you're not around, saying it's about your health. But her eyes?
