"We're just in a contract marriage. Apart from the coincidence of living upstairs and downstairs, there's literally nothing between us."
Olivia's smile froze mid-air, her expression switching instantly to one of disappointment and frustration.
She jabbed her hard on the forehead. "Calliope! You seriously need to get a grip!"
That night, Calliope just stayed over at Olivia's place and didn't leave.
It wasn't until the next afternoon that she finally went back to her apartment to grab some clothes and documents.
She had just opened her suitcase when someone knocked on the door.
She opened it-and wow, it was Conrad.
The man stood against the light, broad shoulders, long legs, casting such a strong shadow over her that she literally felt smaller.
He looked down at her, eyes deep and unreadable. "Just returning your lunchbox."
He handed her the insulated container and added, "The food smelled good. Next time, add a bit more salt."
Way too bland.
