Chapter 10
When Wendy opened her eyes again, she found herself in a tranquil rehabilitation centre. Outside the window, a vast green lawn stretched, and sunlight filtered through white curtains.
The peaceful atmosphere was comforting and unlike anywhere she'd been before.
Suddenly, her throat felt dry and raw.
Wendy propped herself up on her arms and reached for the glass of water on the bedside table. However, just as her fingers brushed it, a pair of warm hands covered hers.
"Don't move too much. Let me help you instead."
Wendy looked up and met a pair of steady, calm eyes. It was the same young man who had saved her on the plane.
He handed her a glass of lukewarm water. His touch was brief and respectful, as if he was aware of maintaining a boundary.
After a sip, Wendy's throat felt better.
The man then took a seat in the chair beside her bed and calmly said, "Let me introduce myself properly. I'm Theodore Clarke, a doctor at a hospital in Losria. This is my private rehabilitation c
