Chapter 9

As the plane passed through the clouds, the cabin began to shake with mild turbulence. As a result, Wendy's wound ripped open, and the pain flared through her body. Instinctively, she curled up and wrapped her arms around her abdomen, trying to ease the pain. However, the burning sensation at her wound only intensified, as though a thousand needles were repeatedly driving themselves into her flesh. At some point, she realized the cabin had grown cold.
