Chapter 5

At the shooting site, Jonah bought Ronaim some chicken soup and sent it to her. "Eat more nutritious food. You can't risk fainting down again." "Thank you," said Ronaim gratefully and took it from him. As soon as she sent the chicken soup to her lips, she was overwhelmed by a feeling of nausea. She bent down, retching desperately and her face turned very pale. The director looked at her worriedly. "Ronaim, if you're not feeling well, take a few days off." "I'm fine, probably just a little sunstroke," Ronaim said, forcing a smile. And her stomach started to churn again. "Wow, Ronaim, are you pregnant? " Karen's voice sounded from distance and was coming closer. Ronaim was frightened and stood up straight hurriedly, tried her best to suppress the discomfort in her stomach, raised her chin to look into Karen's eyes. "You're not really pregnant, are you?" A bad feeling seized Karen's heart. Ronaim grabbed Karen's hand anxiously and said, "Don't be ridiculous!" Karen was not stupid and she understood immediately as soon as she saw Ronaim's expression. Malice flashed through her eyes and she cursed, "You shameless b*tch! You and Nathan are getting divorced and you still climbed to his bed. Bah!" "A mistress has the face to accuse the lawful wife of being shameless!" said Ronaim, looking at her coldly. Karen twisted her lips and smirked. "Don't dream about bonding Nathan's heart with a child. Believe it or not, I will tell Nathan about it today. Tomorrow he will make you have an abortion. Do you believe me?" Of course she believed. Ronaim was trembling with terror. She had heard Nathan say so personally. Since seeing Nathan slap Ronaim at the shooting site last time, the director's attitude towards Ronaim was getting worse. Karen was favored by the investor. And the news of Nathan and Ronaim getting divorced made the snobbish people of the entertainment industry change their attitude. So the people at the shooting site had more enthusiasm towards Karen than Ronaim. When Karen looked at Ronaim, who was sitting under the parasol practicing her lines in the distance, jealousy began to gnaw her heart. She didn't understand what was in Ronaim that was better than her. Why would Nathan marry Ronaim, a woman he didn't love at all, instead of marrying her three years ago? She and Nathan grew up together and had feelings for each other. In what way she was inferior to Ronaim? If she hadn't given a piece of her liver to Nathan, Nathan probably still wouldn't make up his mind to divorce Ronaim yet. She stared at Ronaim with resentment. The episode they were going to shoot this afternoon was happening outdoors, by a river in the suburbs. The heroine and the second leading role would have a fight, and the heroine would be almost pushed into the river by her and the hero would save the heroine in time before she would fall into the river. Ronaim knew that Karen had borne a grudge against her. So she asked Jonah to keep a close eye on her and make sure he catches her before she would fall into the river. In the past, she had played a lot of scenes in the water, and she didn't care, but now she had a little baby in her. It was all her hope. She wouldn't risk the life of the baby. However, her defense wasn't enough. When Karen pushed her before she expected, she was completely confused. "Help!" She screamed and struggled in the water. The director did not yell for a pause, and everyone dared not move. Only Jonah jumped into the water. A few lines were omitted by Karen. She pushed Ronaim into the water in advance, and Jonah didn't even say a line, he just jumped into the water to save the person. He glared at Karen with a pair of gloomy eyes. "Stop!" The director finally raised his hand. "Very good, good, all your expressions are perfect!" "You did it to me on purpose!" Ronaim snapped at Karen, coughing fiercely. She covered her stomach with her hands and felt a dull pain as if something had flowed out of her body. The director flipped the script in his hand and said, "I asked the screenwriter to change the script at the last minute. You see, Karen pushed you down suddenly. Your expression of dismay and panic was so real. It's much better than you would act. Jonah's action is too fast. It's a little flaw, but it's okay. Anyway, this is more convincing to the audience. This film is bound to be hot..." Ronaim suddenly felt a cramp in her belly. She couldn't say anything else to blame them. She just dragged Jonah's arm and said, "Hurry! Send me to the hospital..."
