Chapter 3

The villa was cleaned by the helper in advance, and at the smart door lock integrated with voice, fingerprint, and facial recognition methods, she said, "Laila, open the door." The sandalwood door in front of her opened actively. "Welcome home, master." "Laila, boil water." Suzy dragged the suitcase to the master bedroom on the second floor. Inside were the things she had after spending three years in Xu's house, all of which she had brought there. After fixing her luggage, the water had just been boiled, and after adding some cold water, Suzy leaned on the side of the bar and drank half of it. When the tears fell, Suzy was a little bit startled. Thinking of Yuna's words before leaving, she couldn't help but despise herself a little. She was right, and it took only three seconds. However, it was only when she was alone that she couldn't hold it back anymore. After enduring it all morning, Suzy finally couldn't help it. She put down the cup and lay down on the bar and started crying. The ten years of love for Leonard, in the end, except for three years of humiliating marriage, she got nothing. Was she just sulking and hoping to reconcile like what Yuna said? Of course, they're not going to reconcile, and even if they did, there was no point. He didn't love Suzy. After leaving the Xu family, Suzy had been in a muddle these past two days. She didn't do anything except sleep, but she couldn't sleep well either and kept having a lot of weird dreams. Suzy also dreamed about the year when she was fifteen years old. She naively and kindly thought that the old woman really needed help, but it turned out she was just a prey in her eyes. When people suddenly dragged her into the car, she was desperate and horrified, and in the narrow and dark alley, such dark tragedies did happen from time to time. No one came to save her, and no one would dare save her. But when she finally succumbed to her fate, a young man suddenly kicked the man who was holding her and pulled her hand out of that desperate alley. She didn't know how long she ran, and she didn't dare to stop until the young man stopped. She didn't even have time to see his face clearly during the escape. When they stopped, Suzy realized that the young man in front of her had a face like a bright moon. He had a pair of very dark eyes, and there seemed to be a whirlpool in it because the longer she stared at them, the more she got sucked in. "What's your name?" She had never been this nervous asking for someone's name in her entire life. "Leonard Xu." The boy's voice was just as fascinating as his eyes. Suzy's heart never beat so fast before. "Thank you for saving me." "You're safe. I am leaving." He let go, turned and left. She subconsciously chased him, "Leonard, can I—?" However, in the next second, the young Leonard suddenly became an adult Leonard. He looked at her indifferently, "Suzy, what tricks are you playing again?" Suzy woke up suddenly, the alarm clock on the side kept ringing. She frowned, raised her hand and touched the slightly moist corner of her eye. "Laila, turn off the alarm clock." The alarm stopped abruptly and the room was quiet again. Suzy took her phone. She then saw that half an hour ago, Yuna had sent her a message to cheer her on. Monday arrived at last, and she was finally going to divorce Leonard. Suzy especially picked a one-shoulder ruffled half-length red dress from the closet. Her chestnut-colored long hair that reached almost to her waist was curled into big waves and draped loosely behind her. On her face was the makeup she spent an hour on, the red lipstick was of the same color as the dress she had on. "Laila, I'm going to get divorced." "Master, don't worry, you will meet someone better." Suzy couldn't help but scoff a little. "Thank you, Laila. I'll talk to you later." "Goodbye, master." When Suzy arrived at the door of the Civil Affairs Bureau at 8:55 a.m., the door wasn't open yet. As soon as she arrived, Yuna called. "Suzy, are you at the Civil Affairs Bureau already?" "Yeah, I just arrived." "Wishing you a new and better life in advance!" A familiar black car stopped not far away, and Suzy said in a hurry, "Leonard is here, I have to go." "All right! Oh, by the way, I have prepared a surprise for you today to ensure that you will be able to stand headstrong in front of Leonard!" "Looking forward to it." After hanging up the phone, Suzy looked at Leonard who was approaching her, and smiled coolly as she greeted, "Good morning, Mr. Xu. I'm sorry for troubling you." As soon as she finished speaking, she handed over the divorce agreement in her hand, "I know you don't believe it, but here, it's exactly the same as the one last time. Sign it, and when the Civil Affairs Bureau opens, let's go through the formalities, and you'll be able to get rid of me completely." Leonard's expressionless face finally changed. "Are you serious?" Suzy looked at him quietly. Then after a long while, she suddenly smiled, "Leonard, does it look like I'm kidding right now?" It's just that, he never believed it. Leonard didn't like Suzy looking at him like this. She was not like this to him before. "It's open now." Since she was the one who wanted the divorce, then so be it. It ultimately saved him trouble in the future. At that moment, Suzy heard her heart break.
