Maya's POV I scoffed at her first question. It was obvious Damien had already given her his version of events and for whatever reason, she believed him. I was grateful that Ashton and his family were on our side. I wanted Oliver to come back. I missed him. He made me feel calm and safe, something this woman clearly wasn’t doing. She had just heard Alex tell her that she couldn’t pack us up and ship us back, but she chose to ignore him. I doubted she would be any more willing to hear us out. She looked like the kind of person who had already made up her mind. I couldn’t help but wonder what Damien had done to win her over. Did he pay her off? Offer to sleep with her? Those were his usual tactics. I stepped forward and spoke clearly. “First off, my name is Maya Alvarez. No one in this pack hurt me. I was injured trying to escape the Blackwood Pack. I nearly died from that injury, and I want that formally noted. I will not go back there. And, in case you had not noticed, I’m not even a wo
