Ciara's POV
I was genuinely glad to see that Oliver was no longer holding back with Maya. I had known how deeply he felt for her from the moment we met. His devotion had never wavered, he would lay down his life for my daughter without hesitation. His feelings weren’t fleeting or shallow; they were the kind that would last a lifetime.
As far as I was concerned, Oliver would love her until their final days, and that brought me real peace. Whatever had happened while I was gone had clearly led to a turning point. The way Maya looked at him now, the softness in her eyes, told me she had finally accepted what I had quietly hoped for all along.
When Oliver gently set her back on her feet, I noticed the blush rising to Maya’s cheeks. I didn’t know how long the kiss had lasted, but judging by what I had walked in on, it had been… passionate. He had her dipped back in his arms, her hair nearly brushing the floor as he kissed her with complete abandon. It was romantic, undeniably so.
