Logan glanced at Deonna, clearly unsure how to handle the situation. Deonna took a deep breath, deciding to take control of the moment.
"Emma," she said, her voice calm and professional, "we appreciate you coming here, but as Logan said, this isn't the appropriate time or place for this conversation. If you'd like to discuss things, I suggest we set up a proper meeting, away from the office."
Emma's eyes widened slightly, a flicker of something – disappointment? frustration? – crossing her face before it was replaced by a grateful smile. "Of course, I understand. I'm sorry for barging in like this. I just... I couldn't wait to start making amends. But you're right, Deonna. Always the voice of reason."
Logan seemed to regain his composure, nodding in agreement with Deonna. "We'll have our assistant contact you to set something up, Emma. For now, I think it's best if you leave."
