#Chapter 139: Blood Spilled
Aurora POV
The restaurant is elegant with warm lighting, velvet-curtained windows, the low hum of money and prestige rolling off every polished surface.
It’s our one-month anniversary. A month of waking up tangled in Dominic’s arms, a month of being unexpectedly happy in a life I never pictured for myself.
Dominic rests his hand on my thigh under the table, fingers tracing circles. His thumb occasionally brushes the place where my wedding band glints as if to make sure it’s a reality, that it’s still there.
Luca clinks his glass against mine. “A whole thirty days married to my cousin? You deserve a medal.”
Only the twins would get away with talking to Dominic like that. Still, he lifts an eyebrow. “Careful. You’re speaking to the woman who married me. She clearly has excellent judgment.”
