Wilhelmina bent down to pour tea for Jack, then picked up his cup and took a sip. She frowned slightly and asked, "Is the tea too hot? It seems fine." After speaking, she placed the cup, still bearing her lipstick mark, in front of him. He quietly swapped out the cup she had drunk from. She shot him a cold look. "What's this? Do you find me gross?" Jack ignored her. Just then, Emily walked in, and he asked, "Why isn't he back yet?" The "he" he referred to was Quintis. Though Jack had now integrated into the family, he still wasn't used to addressing Emily and Quintis as "Mom" and "Dad". Emily understood this and wasn't in a hurry for Jack to change how he addressed them. She knew this was a gradual process. She believed that, given time, the walls around Jack's heart would slowly give way. She replied, "The company's been busy lately, so he's been coming home less often." He asked again, "Is the financial war still going on? How's it looking?" She frowned slightl
