When Jack woke up, Bella hurried to pour him a glass of warm water, squeeze toothpaste onto his toothbrush, and lay out a towel. She even helped him get dressed before saying, "I made chicken soup this morning to help you recover."
Knowing he was injured, she even went to buy a dozen free-range hens from the market and kept them in the yard. She stewed one for him every day, certain the broth would help him recover faster.
He was deeply moved.
