Bethany's eyes widened in disbelief, as if she couldn't believe she'd done all that last night. She turned her face away. "Those are mosquito bites."
Silas nearly laughed in exasperation and bit her earlobe in retaliation. "Oh, mosquito bites? Then the mosquito that bit me must've been female."
Bethany couldn't stand this clingy man. "Enough. I need to get to work."
Finally, she grabbed the sheet and wrapped it around herself protectively, then went into the bathroom and locked the door. When she saw herself in the bathroom mirror, she nearly groaned.
Silas had the nerve to accuse her when she had far more marks than he did. Bethany touched the all-too-obvious marks on her neck, feeling somewhat troubled.
In this weather, wearing a turtleneck would be too conspicuous. She wasn't sure if concealer could even cover them.
