Aria’s POV
A familiar figure stood between me and the beast. She had dark black hair, sharp red eyes, and an expression that looked very annoyed.
Raven.
She stood protectively in front of me, her fangs bared as she glared at the snarling beast. Blood dripped from a fresh scratch on her arm, but she didn’t even flinch.
“This is the hundredth time I’ve saved your ass,” Raven snapped without looking back at me. “You need to stop making a habit out of being saved by me. It’s getting old.”
A breathless laugh escaped me, half relief and half disbelief. “I’ll try to work on that.”
Then my eyes glanced behind Raven, and my heart nearly stopped.
