Outside Moran Academy, Demi had just stepped out of the car when Olivia suddenly stepped in front of her.
She looked pale—her lips were dry and cracked, and her eyes were reddened and puffy like she hadn't slept in days.
"Dr. Moone… Can we talk?" she asked, her voice soft and timid.
Demi noticed the curious stares around them and took the initiative to walk toward a quieter spot. Then she turned and faced Olivia.
"I… I came to apologize. I'm really sorry for how I treated you before. Would you please forgive me? Can you continue treating my mom?" Olivia's voice wavered with a mix of guilt and desperation.
"Are you done?" Demi asked coolly. "I've got class. And everything I needed to say to your family, I've already said."
