Harold was still holding a takeout container in his hand.
He greeted Melody, saying, "Ms. Wardolf, you've worked hard over these past two days. I ordered some barbecue ribs for lunch today. Make sure you eat some later."
Since Harold was in charge of the ICU patients, he knew how exhausting the past two days had been for Melody.
Melody's gaze flickered past him to Jeremy, who was standing behind him with his head down, focused on his phone. He didn't look up.
Melody said, "You guys go ahead. I'm not hungry."
Harold paused. "How can you not be hungry? You've been on your feet all morning."
"I'm really not hungry," she insisted.
Jeremy finally lifted his eyes. His gaze landed on Melody as he said in an indifferent voice, "Leave if you don't want to eat."
Melody's fingers curled into her palm. She looked at Jeremy, and her eyelashes trembled slightly.
Harold frowned. "Jeremy, what are you saying? Shouldn't you at least try to convince her?"
Jeremy's expression remained unchanged
