Scott was shocked to see my parents entering the funeral venue.
He sprinted over and pointed at Mom. "You? How could you be here? Aren't you supposed to be…"
Scott couldn't even finish his sentence. Mom didn't know the truth. She thought he was too grief-stricken, and she quickly held his hand and comforted him.
"Oh, Scott. I know you're heartbroken about your mom's passing. From here on out, we are your family."
"What are you talking about? Mom's dead? How could she be dead?" Scott asked, his voice thick with disbelief.
Behind him, the funeral host began speaking. "The funeral for Agatha Kincaid will now begin."
Scott turned around sharply, his eyes narrowing quickly.
"Who? Whose funeral did you say it was?" he roared at the host, his eyes immediately becoming bloodshot.
Then, he rushed to the casket and ripped the white cloth away. At the next moment, he collapsed to the floor.
