After what felt like an eternity—and of course, a good rest—Bellatrix's eyes finally fluttered open.
The first thing that came into view was the batch of peonies blooming far away. The sight of them brought a strange calm to Bellatrix's heart and she smiled softly.
That smile however, crumbles the moment her gaze drifted to the other side. Frowning, she barely held back the flinch that came from seeing Cillian seated on the chair opposite her.
When did he get here? She wondered as she sat up, fixing her hair and dress and keeping her eyes on Cillian all the while.
He took watched her. He didn't say anything. Didn't need to, the silence spoke more volume than words possible could. And even if there was a need to speak, Cillian didn't want to, because he knew the moment either of them spoke, this silence—the silence he'd always ran away from, but now, found some kind of strange peace in—would dissipate like smoke in air.
