Bellatrix's body trembled. Her chest heaved, her teeth gritted and her brows furrowed.
The hatred, the anger, the disgust, they were all written clear on her face and for a split second, Cillian saw a different person in her eyes.
A different woman, one who had her eyes set on him, and not in a loving manner. It made a wave of unsettling feelings rise within his chest and his hold on her loosened.
For a split second—just like the same voice that had spoken to him when he stood outside the O.R when Regina had been rushed to the hospital—that same voice spoke again, asking, had he gone a bit too far this time around?
His words, had they been a bit too harsh this time around?
But as quickly as those thoughts had come, Cillian dismissed them.
Bellatrix had brought this upon herself. She deserved to hear all he had just said for trying to pin another man's child on him, he thought.
