"Y–you're lying," Bellatrix breathed, feeling the life seep out of her. "You're lying."
"Why would I be?" Regina gave a casual shrug, a smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. "I have nothing to lie about. I killed your mother." She added nonchalantly, like she was discussing matters of the weather.
However, her confession left Bellatrix speechless. Weakly, she opened her mouth, wanting to speak, but no words came out. Her throat was dry and her mind reeling.
"Why..." She tried, but the words seemed foreign on her tongue. "Why would you do something like that?"
Regina raised a brow. "Why won't I?" Taking a step closer, she sneered. "You and your mother ruined my life, Bellatrix. You took away everything that ever belonged to me. Imagine how I felt when I first walked into the Lancaster residence, seeing you with everything that should have belonged to me. A happy life, a warm family, money, love. Everything.
