Cillian shot up from his seat the moment he heard Kane's words. His eyes widened a fraction and his hands trembled slightly.
"What?"
"Miss Lancaster's body is missing," Kane repeated tentatively. "The morgue reached out a short while ago to inform you of the disappearance because they couldn't reach Miss Lancaster's family. They said..."
The rest of Kane's words were blocked out by the rising sound of tinnitus in Cillian's ear. He stared blankly, not paying any attention to a word his assistant was saying.
Instead, he focused his mind on a single thought.
Bellatrix's body was missing. The only thing he could have of her was...gone.
"...llian...Cillian. Cillian?!" Rourke's voice snapped him out of his thoughts and by the time Cillian blinked, he was already in front of his office door, hand on the door knob.
"Where are you going?" His friend looked at him like he had grown two heads, or rather, like he was about to do something he shouldn't.
