Chapter 4
On the drive home, Keegan was on edge. After Anna fell asleep in the passenger seat, he pulled my blanket over her.
We didn't say a word. There wasn't anything left to say.
I didn't find out until we got home that Keegan had given Daisy away because of Anna. He even wiped away every trace of my cat from the house.
I couldn't find Daisy. All I saw was the divorce agreement, torn to pieces and thrown into the trash by Keegan. I left it on the table yesterday.
Keegan brought up my cat—or our cat—like it was nothing.
"Anna's allergic to cat hair, so I've already given Daisy away. Don't worry. She'll have an owner who's more responsible than you."
I went still, my chest turning cold. "What did you say?"
