#Chapter 23 (Deonna) The Favor
I was taken back by his words. I had no idea he felt that strongly about the pregnancy. Upon finding out about the pregnancy, it didn’t seem as though he believed the child to be his.
I wasn’t going to question his motives, but I remembered my conversation with Alex about attending school. We made a deal that he would help me attend school if I can convince Marlon to allow for that to happen.
“Okay,” I told him softly. “I do have a favor.”
He cocked an eyebrow up at me and folded his arms across his chest.
“What’s that?” He asked; I could hear the humor lingering behind his words, but he kept a firm expression.
“I want to go to school and study for real; like your sons,” I told him.
