I woke up with a pounding headache as darkness had already settled outside my window. After sleeping off my frustration, clarity finally returned, and I realized I needed to apologize to Liam for my earlier outburst.
The digital clock on my nightstand glowed 11:52 PM. I'd been waiting all evening, but Liam still hadn't returned home. With a sigh, I finally gave up and went to bed alone, hoping to catch him in the morning.
When I woke early the next day, his side of the bed remained untouched. I pulled out my phone, finger hovering over his contact, but stopped myself. What right did I have to check on him? I was the one who had exploded at him, and besides—I was deliberately hiding my true nature from him.
