Chapter 119:Bitter Confrontations
(Scarlett's POV)
Sarah's glare burned into me, her eyes a mix of rage and desperation. The air thickened with tension, almost suffocating in its weight.
"Why do you keep showing up like ghosts that refuse to be exorcised?" I snapped, my voice clipped and cutting. "I told you on the phone already—I severed all ties. I’m done. What part of that do you not understand?"
Sarah’s composure faltered. Her lips pressed together, trembling slightly, before she barked back, “You cut off your relationship with your own family? You think that’s something admirable?!”
"Family?" I hissed, folding my arms and taking one deliberate step closer. "Let’s not rewrite history, Sarah. The only time I’ve felt like family was when I was far away from all of you and building my own life."
Her face turned as red as her pack crest. For a moment, I think she might actually slap me.
